While largely self-taught, George H. Davies has attended a number of watercolor workshops through the years, including comprehensive sessions with noted artists Tom Lynch and the late Irving Shapiro.

Working in a variety of media, Davies has shown his work at art festivals and has been represented by galleries in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and Dalton, Georgia. One of his works was shown in a special exhibition at the Hunter Art Museum in Chattanooga.

Davies finds inspiration in a wide range of subjects, from landscapes to street scenes, from old structures to portraits of people and pets. Light is the central component of his work, and Davies believes it’s what gives a painting its depth and appeal.
